“Health” plan for 2020

The year of 2020 is doomed to be eventful and full of gray memory. Living in the 2nd largest country in southern hemisphere, we suffered the most prolonged and destructive bush fire in history, just a few months before marching into 2020. With those physical and mental traumas still being easily recognizable, a strong wave of corona virus pandemic attacked hardly, no different from other countries and continents in the world.

Map of 2019–2020 Australia bushfire

People are facing stresses, the pain of losing family members and friends, the worry of infecting the deadly virus, the uncertainty of lacking of essential daily supply, the uncomfortableness of being isolated home, etc.

In this special period, I need be conservative when making plans for the year.

Physical health:

  • All family members survive the pandemic
  • Play table tennis 4 times every week
  • Sleep before 10:30pm 3 times a week

Mental health:

  • Kiss and hug family members each day
  • Play board game once every week
  • Keep sane with extended working from home arrangement

Technical health:

  • Develop tech depth: Python, Database design
  • Grow devops skills: Kubernetes, AWS
  • Contribute to open source community: create 3 new projects

It’s hard to predict what comes next after the 2 major crisis, but I hope Australians could become stronger and more united than ever, and make a memorable 2020. WE CAN DO IT!
